Building strong and empowered communities is at the heart of my and my company’s approach. Here’s what we do toward our social sustainability:
- Use collaborative or open source resources, such as WordPress, Google Docs, OpenOffice.org and Mozilla Firefox.
- Participate as member in cooperative organizations, such as the Rivermark Community Credit Union and People’s Food Coop.
- Participate as member in organizations supporting the local economy, such as the Sustainable Business Network of Portland.
- Spread the wealth through our community by donating up to 2.5% of profit to organizations and projects that use innovative, market-based applications to achieve measurable impact in building stronger and empowered communities. Our primary focus areas include, but are not limited to, micro enterprise development, social entrepreneurship, and participatory economy.
- Provide pro bono services to community organizations whose activities align with our mission and focus. Nonprofits receiving pro bono services in
