If you’ve noticed a period of inactivity here on the Sustainable Marketing Blog it’s due to a much-awaited vacation and busy work on projects such as “The Portland Bottom Line”. As with any undertaking, the closer the deadline, the crazier things get. Today, less than two weeks remain before submissions are due for the book! I invite you to be one of the book’s co-authors.

About “The Portland Bottom Line”

A quick recap: Out in November 2010 and divided into sections along the triple bottom line, “The Portland Bottom Line” is a collection of 150 short, 400-word chapters by Portland’s small-business people, each sharing a sustainable practice they successfully implemented in their (or their client’s) business. The book explores how small businesses can effectively and efficiently shift toward sustainability and thrive.

In addition to sharing sustainable business practices, the book is also a community benefit project: Contributors will collectively choose a local nonprofit, which supports the launch and growth of sustainable ventures, to receive 100% of profit from the sales of “The Portland Bottom Line”.

Contribute! Co-author!

As mentioned above, we’re aiming for 150 contributions, the number being the Dunbar Number and the rough number of days it does not rain in Portland, Oregon (though the 3-week stretch of rainy days back in May would make that hard to believe).

We have a ways to go, so if you fit our criteria and have a sustainability-related story to share, we’d love to have you!
