I had a great meet-and-greet with Beatrice Benne earlier this week (check out her eponymous blog). It being so early in the new year, we exchanged our predictions for 2010. Beatrice’s was that this is the year when things will tip toward sustainability in the broader economy.
The association with the fable of the tortoise and the hare popped into my head. The hare: the growth-based economy. The tortoise: the sustainable economy. The nap the hare takes when he sees how far ahead of the tortoise he is: the recent economic crisis.
So, is it wishful thinking or is this the year?
